Cyprumed's Oral Delivery Technology Enters Clinical Phase with MSD Trial

Cyprumed GmbH, an innovative oral drug delivery company based in Innsbruck, Austria, announced the initiation of a Phase I clinical trial by MSD for one of its proprietary drug candidates. This milestone marks the first time Cyprumed's technology enters human clinical development, triggering a milestone payment from MSD.

The Phase I trial is part of a collaboration agreement with MSD, focusing on developing oral formulations of peptides using Cyprumed’s licensed technology. The deal, established in April 2025, includes potential milestone payments up to $493 million.

Cyprumed's CEO, Florian Föger, emphasizes the significance of overcoming challenges of oral administration, aiming for flexible and consistent drug absorption, particularly beneficial for chronic disease patients.
