Mercedes-Benz Adjusts 2026 Outlook Amid Fourth Quarter Challenges
Mercedes-Benz Group AG has revised its full-year 2026 outlook due to anticipated challenges in the fourth quarter and an increasingly complex market in China. The company forecasts higher costs, particularly in materials, affecting its financial expectations. As a result, the expected Return on Sales for Mercedes-Benz Cars is lowered to 2% to 3%, down from 3% to 5% previously. The Group’s expected EBIT is now predicted to remain at the prior-year level, rather than significantly exceeding it.
Moreover, the Free Cash Flow of the Industrial Business is expected to fall notably below the prior-year level, diverging from earlier predictions. Despite these adjustments, expectations for Mercedes-Benz Vans and Financial Services remain stable with returns on sales and equity unchanged at 8% to 10% and 12% to 14%, respectively. Mercedes-Benz's preliminary third-quarter results showed a mixed performance, with some figures exceeding consensus expectations, while others fell short.
