Danone Reports Resilient First Quarter Amid Uncertain Global Climate

Danone's first quarter of 2026 showed a robust like-for-like sales increase of +2.7%, despite global challenges. Sales reached €6,708m, with a volume/mix growth of +1.5% and prices up by +1.2%. Reported sales, however, decreased by -2.0%, primarily due to forex impacts.

In geographical segments, APAC led with a +6.0% rise in like-for-like sales, driven by strong performances in China and Japan. The Americas followed with a +3.4% increase, highlighted by growth in High Protein and specialized nutrition products. EMEA saw a modest increase of +0.6%, affected by an infant milk formula recall and Middle Eastern conflicts.

By category, dairy products rose by +3.4%, while specialized nutrition and waters grew by +1.9% and +2.3%, respectively. Danone remains confident in their yearly guidance, projecting a like-for-like sales growth between +3% and +5%.
