Davenport Aviation Achieves Milestone with Virtus Weaponized Platform

Davenport Aviation has successfully completed the Virtus "First Shot" testing in west Texas. This marks a significant achievement for the development of the Virtus modular weapon system on the AS350/H125 airframe. The tests included multiple successful rocket launches, confirming the weaponized configuration's integrity and operational capability.

According to Rob McMillin, Vice President of Aircraft and Aircraft Systems at Davenport Aviation, this success validates the engineering of the system and its viability in military operations. Virtus allows for rapid reconfiguration, supporting various missions with differing armaments such as miniguns, rockets, and guided munitions.

The system enhances mission adaptability across roles like reconnaissance, special operations, search and rescue, and more. Chris Arnold, Director of Government Sales, emphasized Virtus' ability to meet evolving demands economically. The project received collaboration from XP Services, Moog Inc., and Ember Solutions.
