DBV Technologies Screens First Participant in THRIVE Study of Peanut Patch for Infants
DBV Technologies has announced the first participant screening in its THRIVE Phase 2 study, focusing on the VIASKIN® Peanut Patch's efficacy and safety for infants aged 6 to 12 months with peanut allergy. The single-arm, open-label study will evaluate the patch's ability to facilitate unrestricted peanut consumption. Participants will apply the patch daily for 36 months while avoiding peanuts. A subsequent food challenge will guide future consumption strategies.
Dr. Douglas Mack of McMaster University highlights the study's importance due to infants' high immune plasticity. This study follows promising results in older children and aims to transform allergy management. CEO Daniel Tassé emphasizes the potential of early, non-invasive intervention in altering peanut allergy trajectories in this young population.
