Delivery Hero has unveiled Herogen, an autonomous AI agent designed to enhance the company's engineering output. This innovation is equivalent to a 130-person engineering team and has already been implemented in 18% of Delivery Hero's technology teams. Herogen is responsible for 9% of code change requests, marking a significant shift towards automation in the engineering process.

Built on advanced Large Language Models, Herogen allows engineers to delegate coding work, focusing instead on feature ideation and the development of Delivery Hero's global Everyday App. This transition redefines the interface between humans and machines, emphasizing creativity over syntax.

Herogen operates autonomously, reducing manual oversight needs with a "council of agents" ensuring security and quality. It currently achieves an 85% success rate in proposals, freeing up an estimated 250,000 hours of manual coding annually to empower engineers for more impactful contributions.
