Deutsche Beteiligungs AG Invests in Vected for Growth in Optronics
Deutsche Beteiligungs AG (DBAG) has announced a strategic investment in Vected GmbH, a key player in thermal imaging technology for defence and security. The investment marks DBAG's eighth transaction under its Long-Term Investments strategy, focusing on minority stakes from its own balance sheet. Vected, established in 2012, excels in developing thermal imaging devices, crucial for military and dual-use applications.
Vected boasts a unique European market position with its "Made in Germany" label, offering products that do not rely on non-European supply chains. The European market for uncooled thermal imaging systems is valued at 1.1 billion euros, with an annual growth forecast of 12% until 2030. DBAG and Vected aim to expand production capacity and workforce to harness this growth potential.
This partnership seeks to professionalise Vected’s operations and scale its product offering, preparing the company for its next growth phase. Jannick Hunecke from DBAG emphasizes the rarity and technological prowess of Vected in the optronics space.
