DFL Adopts New Revenue Distribution Key for 2025/26 to 2028/29 Seasons

The DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga has announced a new revenue distribution mechanism for the 2025/26 to 2028/29 seasons. This decision maintains existing distribution systems for national and international media revenue. The four pillars—equal distribution, performance, interest, and young talent—remain integral to the structure.
New initiatives include a €50 million investment for DFL marketing projects and expanded metrics for assessing fan interest. Additional solidarity payments will support non-international clubs and Bundesliga 2. The league will also increase rewards for clubs focusing on German-trained young talent.
Borussia Dortmund anticipates a slight revenue increase under this new system, which emphasizes marketing, media engagement, and talent development. The league's decision reflects an effort to balance financial reward with strategic growth.
