Dispel Appoints New Chief Information Security Officer

Dispel has announced the appointment of Dean Macris as the new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), effective from May 16, 2024. Dean Macris will be responsible for aligning Dispel’s corporate and product security protocols with various standards including NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, NIST 800-172, NERC CIP, IEC 62443, SOC 2, and ISO 27001. This decision was made by Dispel's Board of Directors in New York City, where the announcement was officially released.

Dean Macris brings a wealth of experience in cybersecurity, having held significant roles across operational and information technology security sectors. He previously served as Cyber Technical Director for Naval Special Warfare, managed General Dynamics Electric Boat's largest classified information system, and taught as an instructor at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. His background is expected to contribute to engineering and product design at Dispel significantly.

Dispel's leadership expressed confidence in Macris, highlighting his understanding of cybersecurity as crucial for the environments in which their systems operate. His role will involve not only adherence to cybersecurity standards but also contributing to Dispel's competitive edge in the market.
