DJI's Osmo Action 6: A Breakthrough in Space Filming Technology

DJI has announced the successful use of its Osmo Action 6 cameras during the launch and recovery of LandSpace's Zhuque-3 rocket. These cameras captured high-fidelity footage from a consumer-grade device, directly mounted on the rocket without any special modifications.

The Osmo Action 6 endured extreme conditions, including temperatures of 500°C and high-frequency vibrations, thanks to its robust design. This achievement marks the first instance of consumer cameras effectively filming a rocket's journey through space and its return to Earth, offering first-person perspective footage highly beneficial for aerospace engineering analysis.

Alongside the Osmo Action 6, DJI's complete suite of imaging tools—including the upcoming Osmo 360 II—was employed to comprehensively document the event. This suite included aerial coverage using the DJI Mavic 4 Pro and thermal imaging from the DJI Matrice 4TD, creating an integrated filming network that preserved the historic moment from multiple viewpoints.
