Edenred Faces New Regulatory Challenges in Brazil
Edenred has acknowledged a recent decision by the Brazilian Federal Regional Court regarding the meal and food voucher system, affecting issuers in Brazil. The court confirmed the applicability of the presidential decree issued on November 12, 2025, which introduces regulatory changes to the Worker Feeding Program (PAT).
Edenred had previously secured an injunction suspending the decree's application, along with other market participants. However, the Brazilian government challenged this suspension, seeking its reversal in early February 2026. Edenred, supported by ABBT, plans to appeal the ruling.
The decree’s impact has been factored into Edenred’s 2026 financial guidance, indicating an anticipated 8% to 12% decline in EBITDA, matching projected growth for 2027 and 2028. The company's target for free cash flow conversion remains unchanged at ≥ 35% for 2026.
