Franklin Global Trust Announces Combination with Invesco Global
On 13 November 2025, Franklin Global Trust (FRGT) revealed an agreement for a combination with Invesco Global Equity Income Trust (IGET). This merger will be conducted through a scheme of arrangement, allowing FRGT shareholders to receive new shares in IGET and/or cash. The management of the combined entity will remain under Invesco Fund Managers.
FRGT's declining market capitalization, from £300 million to below £185 million over five years, has influenced this strategic move. This decline is primarily due to ongoing share buybacks under FRGT's zero discount policy, impacting the trust’s size and performance.
