ENCAVIS Expands Wind Portfolio with Schierenberg Acquisition
Hamburg-based Encavis has acquired a 48 MW wind project in Schierenberg from ABO Energy. The project features eight wind turbines and is scheduled to go online in early 2027. This acquisition is part of a larger collaboration, with four additional wind projects planned, bringing the total capacity to 106 MW.
Encavis CEO Mario Schirru highlighted the strategic importance of this collaboration as part of their efforts to expand their wind portfolio in Germany, where they already have an installed capacity of around 800 MW. The Schierenberg project will use Vestas V150/6.0 turbines, each with a hub height of 169 meters and a capacity of 6 MW, to produce nearly 148 GWh of green electricity annually. A 20-year EEG feed-in tariff secures the power purchase.
