ElecLink resumes operations

February 5, 2025 marks the start of the gradual return to service of ElecLink, the electricity interconnector between France and the United Kingdom. After a shutdown on September 25, 2024 due to a malfunction, repair work has been completed. The final phase of assessment and testing, scheduled to last until February 10, will include checks that may cause brief interruptions.
Between 5 and 10 February, ElecLink will offer its capacity via daily auctions. In the first weeks of 2025, the suspension has had an estimated impact of €25 million. Nevertheless, the group has secured revenues of almost €168 million for 2025, subject to the restart on 5 February.
With a capacity of 1GW, ElecLink remains a crucial element of energy security between France and the United Kingdom.
