Electrovaya Introduces Battery Systems for Airport Ground Support Equipment
Electrovaya Inc., a company known for its lithium-ion battery technology, has launched new battery system products specifically designed for airport ground support equipment (GSE). These systems support various GSE applications such as airplane tuggers and baggage tractors. The development was done in collaboration with a major OEM supplier in the USA.
The first commercial shipment of these battery systems is set for August, marking Electrovaya's entry into the aviation sector and the GSE electrification market. Dr. Jeremy Dang highlighted the product's alignment with the demand for cleaner and more efficient tarmac operations.
Electrovaya's batteries use proprietary Infinity technology, known for its safety and performance across different climates. These innovations are essential for year-round airport operations. The company will present these systems at the International GSE Expo in Las Vegas in September 2025.
