Elise Mertens Wins Singles Title at Singapore Tennis Open

The inaugural Singapore Tennis Open saw second-seed Elise Mertens emerge victorious in the singles category, defeating Ann Li in a straightforward final with scores of 6-1, 6-4. This victory marks Mertens' 9th career WTA singles title. Despite dropping only one set during the tournament, Ann Li was unable to overcome Mertens' strong baseline game.

In the doubles category, Desirae Krawczyk and Giuliana Olmos claimed the title after a challenging match against Wang Xinyu and Zheng Saisai. The American-Mexican duo secured their first title together in nearly five years with a 7-5, 6-0 win.

The event drew nearly 22,000 fans over nine days, featuring not only top-tier tennis action but also engaging community activities at the Kallang Tennis Hub. With its return planned for 2026 and 2027, the Singapore Tennis Open promises to continue offering exciting tennis and fan engagement.
