SachsenEnergie Acquires Würselen Wind Park from Energiekontor

SachsenEnergie AG has purchased the Würselen wind park from Energiekontor AG. The park, located in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, was repowered with Vestas turbines, each generating 6.0 megawatts. This brings the total capacity to 18.0 megawatts, capable of powering over 12,500 homes annually.

Initially constructed over 20 years ago, the site was upgraded from older GE turbines. This transaction is part of Energiekontor's strategy to enhance project sales, having divested five projects totaling 115 megawatts this year.

SachsenEnergie views this acquisition as key to expanding its green energy portfolio. The company's subsidiary, SachsenEnergie NaturKraft, will manage the park, furthering its goal of reaching four terawatt hours of green production by 2040.
