West Africa's Energy Leaders to Spearhead Clean Energy Dialogue
The West Africa Energy Cooperation Summit (WAECS) is set to convene in Accra, Ghana, from December 2-3, 2025. It aims to stimulate investments and promote regional energy integration with the participation of Ghana's Ministry of Energy and Green Transition as a patron. Key stakeholders, including regional government officials, investors, and industry leaders, will discuss opportunities in renewable energy, gas-to-power, and digitalization of energy systems.
The African Trade & Investment Development Insurance (ATIDI) will sponsor the event alongside Endeavour Energy and Denham Capital. The summit will address financing and de-risking clean energy infrastructures, encouraging private sector participation, and enhancing regional power trade.
Ghana's Energy Transition Framework, targeting net-zero emissions by 2070, focuses on cleaner energy generation and renewable expansion, specifically solar. The summit highlights efforts to build a resilient and competitive energy sector within the region.
