Entech, in partnership with Eiffage Énergie Systèmes, has signed a contract to build an energy storage plant in northern France. This project includes a high-voltage substation for an independent solar power producer, with delivery scheduled for March 2027.

The plant will integrate a 50 MW battery storage system (BESS) connected to the RTE grid. This system will help manage the intermittency of solar energy, stabilizing the grid in the event of overcapacity.

The site will consist of six islands with battery containers and medium-voltage substations. This compact approach aims to optimize costs, and the project includes operations and maintenance services.

Christopher Franquet, CEO of Entech, highlights the importance of BESS in the energy transition, strengthening energy independence and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
