Eurobattery Minerals Advances Hautalampi Project with New Environmental Documentation
On 24 August 2026, Eurobattery Minerals AB announced that its Finnish subsidiary, FinnCobalt Oy, has submitted additional documentation for the Hautalampi battery mineral project in eastern Finland. This submission, requested by the Finnish Supervisory Agency, progresses the Environmental Permit Application for the project, which focuses on nickel, cobalt, and copper supplies.
CEO Roberto García Martínez emphasized the importance of a thorough permitting process and transparency in responsible mining. The documentation includes updates on water management, waste treatment, and aftercare for the historic Keretti site.
FinnCobalt, with technical experts, addressed various environmental and regulatory concerns, ensuring the permit process advances smoothly. The Hautalampi project represents a step toward securing Europe's critical raw materials within the EU framework.
