Eurobattery Minerals CEO Convicted of Fraud, Faces Insider Trading Accusations

Eurobattery Minerals AB announced that CEO Roberto García Martínez has been convicted in Spain for fraud related to a 2011 mining investment in Sierra Leone. The Supreme Court of Spain confirmed a two-year prison sentence in January 2026, along with a fine and a USD 3.46 million liability. The sentence's enforcement was conditionally suspended by the Provincial Court of Bizkaia, contingent on specific financial obligations over a five-year period. Non-compliance could activate the custodial sentence.

Furthermore, the Swedish Economic Crime Authority has charged Martínez with three counts of aggravated insider dealing. Eurobattery's Board is investigating and will decide on appropriate actions. Further updates are expected as the situation develops.
