Eurobattery Minerals Seeks Strategic Project Status for Key Ventures
Eurobattery Minerals AB recently announced the submission of applications for Strategic Project status under the EU's Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA). These applications pertain to the San Juan tungsten project in Spain and the Hautalampi battery mineral project in Finland.
CEO Roberto García Martínez emphasized the geopolitical importance of these metals for energy transition and industries like defense and aerospace. Achieving Strategic Project status would streamline processes, reduce risks, and enhance project financing. It would also emphasize Europe's strategic autonomy and resilience while meeting stringent environmental standards.
The European Commission will now review these applications, with assessment results expected in approximately four months. Eurobattery Minerals aims to advance its strategy of delivering European-sourced critical raw materials.
