EUROPLASMA and Pirson launch Luxplasma to reduce CO2 emissions
EUROPLASMA, a major player in industrial decarbonization and pollution control, is partnering with Phoenix Technologies SA, a subsidiary of the Pirson Group, to create Luxplasma. This new entity, based in Luxembourg, will focus on the production of plasma torches (PCTs), aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the steel industry.
Blast furnace technology (TAP) promises a 15-20% reduction in blast furnace emissions through ultra-high temperature gas technology. This initiative, which is already generating considerable interest in Europe and Brazil, aims to modernize existing facilities while limiting associated costs and investments.
With a planned production capacity of around one hundred torches per year from 2026, Luxplasma symbolizes the union of EUROPLASMA's expertise in TAP and Pirson's expertise in steelmaking for sustainable solutions.
