Fonderie de Bretagne is progressing towards the defense industry
The Brittany Foundry (FDB), part of the Europlasma group, has reached a crucial milestone in its diversification into the defense industry. The results of recent fragmentation tests on 120mm mortar shells were positive, confirming the quality and metallurgical expertise of the FDB site. Following these successes, ballistic tests are scheduled for January, with a view to final product qualification.
If qualification is obtained, series production could begin in the second quarter of 2026. Jérôme Garnache-Creuillot, CEO of Europlasma, emphasizes that this success reinforces the diversification strategy towards high-demand sectors.
