Eutelsat Delivers LEO Connectivity for UK Government Operations
Eutelsat Group has partnered with NSSLGlobal and the UK’s FCDO Services to provide OneWeb low Earth orbit (LEO) connectivity. The agreement will enhance UK government operations globally, including diplomatic, defence, and disaster response efforts. Eutelsat's LEO constellation will supply high-speed, low-latency connectivity for British missions worldwide, with NSSLGlobal managing the services.
The deployment of Eutelsat's services aims to improve regional resilience and continuity, particularly for hurricane preparedness in British Overseas Territories in the Caribbean. Eutelsat's Cyril Dujardin emphasized the critical role of LEO services in secure global communications. FCDO Services' CEO, Mike Astell, highlighted the partnership's potential to bolster rapid connectivity worldwide.
