Eutelsat Terminates Contracts on Express AT1 and AT2 Satellites

Stock price chart of EUTELSAT COMMUNICATIONS (EPA:ETL) showing fluctuations.

On March 12, 2026, Eutelsat announced the termination of its capacity contracts on RSCC-owned Express AT1 and AT2 satellites. This decision follows the failure of Express AT1 at the 56° East position and the planned relocation of Express AT2 from 140° East.

Eutelsat initially leased capacity on these satellites to enhance coverage from its EUTELSAT 36C and 36D satellites. The termination is predicted to have a minimal revenue impact, with no significant effect on EBITDA for the fiscal year 2025-26. Eutelsat's financial goals remain unchanged.

With these changes, Eutelsat's geostationary satellite fleet is now reduced to 31 from 33. Despite this reduction, Eutelsat's comprehensive satellite network continues to support global connectivity and broadcast services.
