Fifth Binzhou Citywide Reading Conference Inaugurates to Promote Literacy

The Fifth Binzhou Citywide Reading Conference & Reading Week has started at the Qunxing Theater in Binzhou Cultural Center, Shandong Province. This week-long event gathers over 300 societal representatives aiming to foster a strong reading culture.

The initiative supports the National Reading Promotion Regulations and advances the "Fragrant Binzhou" campaign. Activities are designed to cultivate an environment where people love and engage with books thoughtfully.

During the opening, the 2026 Binzhou Citywide Reading promotional video was showcased, introducing key initiatives and a recommended booklist. The ceremony also awarded contributors to the "Inheriting Literary Traditions, Reading Wisely in Binzhou" campaign.

Binzhou will host more than 100 events, including expert lectures and book fairs, enhancing public access to reading services. The city plans to further develop its cultural brand, increase reading activities, and construct modern reading spaces accessible to all.
