First Breach Achieves Milestone in Drone Development

First Breach Inc. has successfully completed the first untethered flight of its proprietary drone prototype. This marks a significant achievement in their unmanned aerial systems program. The drone operated without a physical tether, using commercial flight electronics, as the company progresses with its proprietary flight controller under development in collaboration with Hellbender, Inc. This controller operates on Betaflight firmware and is integral to future prototypes.

The airframe's untethered flight showcases the effectiveness of the company's design strategy. Co-Founder Jeffrey Low emphasized the importance of this achievement in advancing domestic production. The firm aims to fully integrate the flight controller with the aircraft for comprehensive testing. Production scaling is targeted to begin in the second quarter of 2027, with the goal of manufacturing over 2,500 drones weekly.

The prototype drone features include a four-rotor design, approximately 2.2 kg in weight, a payload capacity of 500 g, and a maximum speed of 120 km/h. With a strategic agreement in place, First Breach controls manufacturing, while Hellbender supports engineering and technical development.
