First Graphene Showcases Graphene-Enhanced Cement Roof Tile Success

First Graphene Limited announced compelling results from a pioneering trial of graphene-enhanced cement roof tiles with FP McCann, a leading UK precast concrete supplier. The trial demonstrated a CO2 reduction of up to 14% and optimized material use, with a 26% decrease in CEM I-to-concrete ratio. These advancements bolster First Graphene's entry into the projected US$7.6 billion global cement roof tile market.

The five-month project involved 40 tonnes of PureGRAPH® enhanced cement, culminating in over 10,000 tiles produced at FP McCann’s UK Cadeby facility. Tests confirmed robust performance with reduced material use, pointing to potential cost savings.

The success has sparked industry interest and dovetails with the UK Government's push for sustainable housing. The project, backed by UK departments DESNZ and DEFRA, aligns with efforts to boost eco-friendly construction practices.
