FocalPoint and STMicroelectronics Enhance GNSS Reliability for Automotive
FocalPoint, based in Cambridge, UK, has announced a commercial agreement with STMicroelectronics to integrate FocalPoint's S-GNSS® Auto software with ST's Teseo hardware. This collaboration, initiated in May 2025, aims to improve Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) reliability in challenging environments, such as urban canyons and tree-lined roads.
The joint solution is delivered via a firmware upgrade, enabling auto manufacturers to enhance vehicle positioning accuracy efficiently. This is backed by FocalPoint’s Supercorrelation® technology that consistently improves accuracy in signal-degraded conditions.
Scott Pomerantz, CEO at FocalPoint, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the potential improvements in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) solutions. The integration is expected to deliver sub-meter accuracy, enhancing the safety and reliability of autonomous vehicles.
Evaluation kits are now accessible on FocalPoint’s website for OEMs and partners.
