FDE adjusts its governance in response to gas over-coverage
The French energy company FDE has announced measures to resolve the over-hedging incident affecting its gas portfolio, while also adjusting its growth strategy. This incident, which has slightly impacted its profitability, generated a potential loss of €25.8 million as of September 30, 2026. FDE has begun discussions with a counterparty to manage this impact, while continuing to refinance its over-hedging using the liquidity of the gas market.
To strengthen its cash position without impacting its key assets, FDE is implementing an action plan focused on optimizing cash inflows, reducing costs, selling non-core assets, and financing strategic projects. Simultaneously, the group's governance is being improved through the integration of independent directors and the adjustment of internal control processes.
