FutureGrail Achieves Record Sales at May Auction
FutureGrail has achieved new milestones in vintage watch valuations, with its May Auction attracting bidders from over 40 countries. A highlight was a Rolex Datejust, modified by legendary watchmaker George Daniels, which smashed estimates by selling for $520,000, well above the $100,000 to $200,000 range.
The auction saw fierce competition for Patek Philippe, Rolex, and Vacheron Constantin pieces, with all lots sold, revealing a strong market for rare watches. A standout was a Patek Philippe in 18-carat gold, which sold for $400,000, outperforming expectations.
CEO Ali Nael noted strong demand for these exceptional timepieces, while also highlighting a resurgence in vintage pocket watches. This trend aligns with cultural influences, such as TV shows and collaborations in the watch industry.
