Galimedix Forms Advisory Board to Guide Alzheimer's Drug Development

Galimedix Therapeutics, Inc. has announced the creation of a Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) dedicated to advancing GAL-101, a novel drug candidate for Alzheimer’s disease. This board includes global experts in Alzheimer's biology, biomarkers, cognitive assessment, and drug development. The aim is to support the clinical development of GAL-101, which acts as a modulator of amyloid beta aggregation, a key therapeutic target in Alzheimer’s.

The SAB will provide guidance on scientific and clinical strategy as Galimedix prepares for its Phase 2a SAPHARY study. This follows successful Phase 1 trials that reported excellent safety and tolerability of GAL-101, with evidence of blood-brain barrier penetration.

Galimedix is also developing GAL-301 as another potential treatment in its Alzheimer’s pipeline, while continuing efforts in ophthalmology research. The newly established board is expected to be a crucial part of the development and potential success of these innovative therapies.
