Applications Open for 2026 Semmelweis-Richter Journalism Award
The Semmelweis-Richter Journalism Award is now accepting applications for its 2026 edition. Journalists from eligible European countries can submit their work in two key categories: Women's Health and Pharmaceutical Strategies and Innovation, with an emphasis on cardiovascular therapies. The submission deadline is June 9, 2026.
Initiated in 2025 by Semmelweis University with the support of Gedeon Richter, the award seeks to acknowledge outstanding health journalism. The inaugural edition received nearly 70 entries from over 20 countries, featured in publications like The Times and The Guardian.
The award continues in the same categories, focusing on critical health issues and promoting public discourse. An international jury will assess entries on quality, impact, and originality. Winners will be announced in July 2026, sharing a prize fund of €45,000.
