GECC Announces New CFO Amid Construction Progress
Global Education Communities Corp. (GECC) has appointed Victor Chiu as the new Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary, replacing Paul Harman. Chiu, a Chartered Professional Accountant with over ten years of experience in finance, has worked with significant Canadian enterprises, enhancing their portfolios in real estate and investment.
In parallel to this leadership change, GECC has made significant strides in the construction of its GEC® Oakridge project. This development, scheduled for completion in 2026, is progressing ahead of schedule and below budget. The construction crane is set to be dismantled by mid-June 2026.
Toby Chu, GECC's CEO, emphasized the importance of Chiu's expertise and the strategic alignment of the company's projects with the upcoming Oakridge Park development. Proximity to this extensive $6.5 billion project is expected to increase the appeal of GECC's student housing initiatives in Vancouver.
