Global Energy Transition: India Leads in Awareness and Commitment
The Fondazione MAIRE and IPSOS 2025 study sheds light on the global energy transition, with India emerging as a leader in awareness and commitment. India boasts a notable 63% awareness rate and a 71% perceived commitment to decarbonization strategies, leading the study conducted across 14 countries. Qatar and Argentina were newly added to this survey, which compiles insights from over 2,300 interviews.
Qatar shows high public awareness at 67%, while Argentina struggles with only 36% fully familiar with energy transition concepts. The study also highlights skill demands, emphasizing technical and soft skills as vital for progress. Challenges vary by country, with Kazakhstan fearing transition costs, and Saudi Arabia anticipating short-term benefits. Education emerges as a priority, particularly in China and Chile.
Success in the energy transition depends on strategic vision and human capital investment. Countries globally recognize the need for problem-solving and critical thinking skills to advance this crucial sector.
