Global launch to select the “Top 10 of Hainan Tourism and Cultural Excellence”
On February 23, 2024, the Hainan Free Trade Port, located in southern China, officially launched a global initiative: the selection of the “Top 10 of Hainan Tourism and Cultural Excellence”. The move aims to highlight Hainan's tourism wonders and promote the island as China's vacation paradise to an international audience.
Hainan's visa-free entry policy, expanded to 59 countries earlier this month, promotes the development of trade, family visits, medical care, conferences, exhibitions and sports competitions, in addition to tourism. Various themes such as coastal tourism, tax-free shopping, leisure and health tourism, rural tourism and even intangible culture tourism will be highlighted.
The initiative will be visible on several Facebook pages such as "China Xinhua News", and will present new tourism products and innovative leisure ideas every month inviting Internet users to vote. The ten tourism products receiving the most votes will be honored as the "Top 10 Hainan Tourism and Cultural Excellence" of the year.
