GRENKE AG Reports Q1 Earnings Decline, Maintains Full-Year Forecast

GRENKE AG has reported a significant drop in group earnings for Q1 2025 compared to the same period last year. Earnings after taxes stood at EUR 10.2 million, a sharp decrease from EUR 19.8 million in Q1 2024. As anticipated, this is largely due to increased expenses related to claim settlements and risk provisions. Despite this, the company has kept its full-year forecast unchanged, bolstered by high-margin new business and solid operating income.

The operating result, before accounting for claims and risk provisions, rose by 20%, from EUR 55.7 million to EUR 67.0 million. The cost-income ratio also improved slightly to 56.8%, compared to 58.1% in the previous year. Expenses for claims and risk provisions surged to EUR 47.6 million, aligning with company expectations.

The complete quarterly statement, with finalized figures, will be released on May 15, 2025.
