Gulf Keystone Restarts Pipeline Exports in Significant 2025 Milestone
Gulf Keystone Petroleum Ltd, a key player in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, announced a pivotal development for 2025. The company successfully resumed pipeline exports from the Shaikan Field in September after a two and a half year break. Exports led to the first payments being received in November, aligning with the interim agreements, and reinforcing the transition from local sales.
The company maintained a strong operational performance with gross production averaging around 41,400 barrels of oil per day (bopd) in 2025, close to its target range. December saw an increase to approximately 44,000 bopd, highlighting a smooth switch to pipeline exports.
Financially, Gulf Keystone returned $50 million in dividends and accumulated a cash balance of $75 million. Looking forward, the company plans to advance its projects in 2026, focusing on infrastructure and potential drilling activities, heavily contingent on consistent export payments.
