Half of Swiss Delaying Their Dreams, Survey Finds
A recent study by Sotomo for Helvetia Baloise reveals a paradox in Swiss attitudes. Although 74% of the Swiss population feel fortunate, 49% believe they have delayed pursuing their dreams for too long. This sentiment is particularly strong among middle-aged and younger groups, with 57% of those aged 18-34 expressing this view.
The survey highlights that while many Swiss people feel lucky, decisive action is often lacking. Among the same young demographic, 81% wish for more confidence in daily situations, such as saying "No" or handling conflicts. Confidence in one's abilities is cited as a key factor in stepping beyond comfort zones, supported by 56% of respondents.
The desire to embrace change positively influences life decisions. 99% view big trips positively in hindsight, while 97% feel the same about marriage and family. Though challenging, separations are re-evaluated positively by 69% later on.
