Hapag-Lloyd Appoints New COO and Extends CTIO Contract

Hapag-Lloyd AG has appointed Anders Boenaes as the new Chief Operating Officer, effective October 1. Previously serving as Senior Managing Director Network, Boenaes has been with the company since 2020. His experience includes managing the global liner network and container fleet, and he played a key role in the Gemini Cooperation with Maersk.

The company also extended Dheeraj Bhatia's contract as Chief Terminal & Infrastructure Officer until the end of 2029. Bhatia has been instrumental as CEO of Hanseatic Global Terminals, expanding Hapag-Lloyd's terminal network. His leadership has laid a strong foundation for a global terminal operating platform.

The Supervisory Board, led by Chairman Karl Gernandt, expressed confidence in the leadership changes, preparing the company for future opportunities and challenges.
