HDBank Achieves Significant Profit Growth and Asset Expansion in First Half of 2026
HDBank has reported a 31% increase in pre-tax profit for the first half of 2026, reaching VND13.2 trillion (US$505 million). The bank's total assets rose by 12.3%, surpassing the VND1 quadrillion mark, placing it among the top Vietnamese banks regarding asset size.
Key financial metrics indicate robust growth, with a return on equity (ROE) of 25.4% and return on assets (ROA) of 2.17%. Total operating income increased by 8.8% year-on-year to VND22.68 trillion, largely due to a 23.1% rise in non-interest income. The digital transformation initiatives have lowered the cost-to-income ratio to 24.9%.
Outstanding loans grew 18.8%, focusing on strategic sectors like manufacturing and SMEs. Furthermore, customer deposits saw a more than 20% increase. Notably, the bank's wide-ranging ecosystem supports its effective customer acquisition and service diversification strategy.
