HDF Energy and Pertamina NRE join forces for hydrogen projects in Indonesia
HDF Energy and Pertamina New & Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of the Indonesian state-owned energy group, have signed a cooperation agreement to develop hydrogen-based renewable energy projects in Indonesia. This partnership aims to promote green hydrogen to decarbonize the Indonesian electricity grid while strengthening the country's energy independence.
The projects will focus on the districts of East Nusa Tenggara and Papua, implementing Renewstable® power plants that combine intermittent renewable energy sources with hydrogen storage. These plants will provide a stable and clean electricity supply, essential for island regions heavily reliant on diesel.
The agreement also plans to explore industrial applications of hydrogen, contributing to a more sustainable energy ecosystem in Indonesia.
