Hedia Gains Approval to Expand Diabetes App to Pediatric Care
Danish company Hedia has achieved a significant milestone in digital therapeutics by securing Medical Device Regulation (MDR) certification. This approval allows the expansion of their digital diabetes support to pediatric care, removing the previous age restriction of 18 and older. Parents and caregivers can now use the Hedia Diabetes Assistant for children and teenagers under 18.
The updated certification also enhances the app's capabilities to provide flexible insulin regimens and improved device connectivity. This includes support for continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), smart pens, and smart health platforms, facilitating integrated care for young patients.
Rasmus Kofoed, CEO of Hedia, emphasized the significance of this milestone, highlighting the potential for better connection between clinics and families. The approval aims to make diabetes management for children more precise and reliable, aligning with Hedia's goal of improving daily care management for families.
