Helvetia Appoints Karina Schreiber as Group Chief Risk Officer

Helvetia Insurance has announced the appointment of Karina Schreiber as the new Group Chief Risk Officer and a member of the Group Executive Board. Schreiber, who brings extensive experience in international risk management, will begin her role on October 1, 2025. She succeeds Bernhard Kaufmann, who is leaving the company for a new opportunity.

Prior to joining Helvetia, Schreiber served as Group Chief Actuary at Allianz SE. She has also held prominent positions in Allianz U.K. and Allianz Versicherungs-AG in Germany. Schreiber holds advanced degrees in mathematics and mathematical finance, and she is a Fellow of the German Actuarial Association and a Certified Enterprise Risk Actuary.

Post-merger with Baloise, Schreiber will continue in her role within the joint entity's executive team. The company anticipates that her expertise will bolster its risk management capability in the evolving insurance landscape.
