HMS Bergbau AG Reports Robust First-Half 2026 Financial Performance
HMS Bergbau AG, a key player in the commodities trading sector in Germany, confirmed strong financial results for the first half of 2026. Revenues surged to EUR 1.1 billion from EUR 0.64 billion the previous year, with EBITDA reaching EUR 22.5 million, bolstered by one-off consolidations from its South African acquisitions.
Growth was largely driven by the bulk products and liquid fuels segment, responding to high demand for coal products in emerging markets. The International Energy Agency anticipates global coal consumption to rise, contradicting earlier forecasts of a decline.
Expansion in the metal ores sector and operational advancements in other mines further supported HMS's growth. Notably, regional instability in the Middle East did not deter their business trajectory.
