Holcim Expands Circular Construction with Strategic Acquisitions in Europe

Holcim has significantly advanced its circular construction efforts in Europe with the acquisition of three demolition materials recycling businesses. The acquisitions include Thames Materials in West London, A&S Recycling GmbH in Northern Germany, and a recycler in Northwest France. These moves boost Holcim's processing capacity by 1.3 million tons annually, aligning with its goal to recycle over 20 million tons annually by 2030.

Thames Materials extends Holcim's reach across Greater London, while A&S Recycling GmbH, based in Hanover, adds three new hubs in Germany. The French acquisition further reinforces Holcim's presence, increasing its recycling centers in the country to 28.

CEO Miljan Gutovic emphasized the importance of these acquisitions in achieving Holcim's circular construction goals and advancing the NextGen Growth 2030 target. The expansion is poised to enhance the company's ECOCycle® technology and marks a significant step toward a sustainable construction future in Europe.
