Holcim Invests in Carbon Mineralization Pioneer 44.01

Holcim has announced its investment in 44.01, a company specializing in mineralization technology that transforms captured CO2 into stable carbonate rock. This funding aims to scale 44.01's operations globally and strengthens their existing partnership.

Since July, both companies have piloted this technology at Holcim's UAE cement plant, storing CO2 underground. This aligns with Holcim's decarbonization strategy, facilitating carbon storage at inland sites and expanding its technology portfolio.

44.01 also counts notable investors such as Breakthrough Energy Ventures and Siemens Financial Services. Holcim's focus remains on pioneering sustainable construction solutions through numerous investments in cutting-edge technologies.
