Hong Kong Expands Business Ties in the Middle East
Hong Kong's Chief Executive, John Lee, has deemed his recent visit to the Middle East a "success." This visit, which took place from May 10-15, included stops in Qatar and Kuwait. Leading a delegation of over 50 business leaders and entrepreneurs, Lee emphasized the trip's role in enhancing Hong Kong's ties with these nations.
The delegation had three key goals: strengthening governmental relations, discovering new collaboration areas, and expanding networks. Notably, 59 memoranda of understanding and agreements were reached—35 in Qatar and 24 in Kuwait.
Lee underscored six significant achievements, including building governmental relations, promoting trade and cultural exchanges, and exploring a potential free trade agreement with the Gulf Cooperation Council.
The visit highlights Hong Kong's strategic position as a connector in global business, drawing on its unique "one country, two systems" framework to foster international opportunities.
