Hong Kong Strengthens Its Role as a Gateway for Tech Talent in the Greater Bay Area

Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE) and the EuroTech Federation hosted a Europe-wide hackathon, spotlighting opportunities in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). The event attracted 1,200 applicants from over 25 countries, with 250 advancing to the finals. Winning participants toured Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou, connecting with investors and industry leaders. A significant 90% of finalists showed increased interest in the region post-event.

During visits to hotspots such as Cyberport and Hong Kong Science Park, the delegation explored local innovation and technology (I&T) ecosystems. This initiative aims to strengthen Hong Kong's position as an international I&T hub, promoting continuous engagement for global innovators looking to establish long-term connections in the GBA.
